1. Purpose and Characteristics
DYS-75 single brick in-situ double shear tester is a specialized instrument used to test the shear strength of building masonry. This instrument is a small hydraulic device that uses a piston to lift and push the cover plate to generate a force to test the shear strength of the masonry block, causing the upper and lower surfaces of the block to shear. The shear strength of the masonry block is calculated by measuring the force at which the block shears. The test results are intuitive and local damage is detected.
